After Breakfast there is time to explore this wonderful part of the country.
There are more than a dozen walks nearby for those who enjoy the natural beauty
of the Great Outdoors. For instance
Chia-Aig Waterfall & Prince Charlie's Cave,
gives a fine view across the Nevis Range going through mature
spruce wood near the southern end of Loch Lochy. WEATHER PERMITTING,
THERE WILL BE AN ORGANISED WALK AFTER BREAKFAST FOR THOSE WHO
WOULD LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF COMPANY. PLEASE GATHER AT RECEPTION
FOR 11.00. MULLED WINE AND A CREAM TEA WILL BE SERVED ON OUR RETURN.
If the weather is not so kind, some shopping in nearby Fort William
or Fort Augustus will definitely bring to light some woolly bargains.
BuBut remember to be back in time for our special Hogmanay dinner
and evening entertainment. Dinner will be served between 7.00
and 8.30.
Friday
1st January
New Year's Day
Time for a nice lazy day. Breakfast will be served later, between
9.00 am and 11.00 am, for those of us who saw the old year out in style.
Perhaps a short stroll down to the hotel's private beach overlooking
Loch Lochy to gaze across the water to the majestic snow capped
peaks of Meall na Teanga (271) 3008ft and Sron a'Choire
Ghairbh (237) 3068ft part of the Monros. This is Jacobite
country; on a crisp winter morning you really feel transported
back in time to a bygone era when Bonnie Prince Charlie raised
his Standard amongst the clans. ANOTHER WALK WILL BE ARRANGED
BY THE HOTEL. MEET AT RECEPTION 11.30AM FOR ANOTHER WEE STROLL.
Some of us however might just be huddled up in front of the roaring
log fire with a good book and a glass of something to warm the
cockles of our heart, while we plan out all our New Year resolutions!!
By now some wonderful aromas should be coming from the kitchen
as our chef prepares another wonderful dinner to entice us to
break all those New Year resolutions from this afternoon.
Saturday 2nd January
After a hearty breakfast it's a sad farewell to some of our
companions as we all head in our different directions for 2010,
while some of us will be staying on for another night of total
relaxation and wonderful food.
Please note
that the hotel will be open from Sunday 28th of December.
